Nils Holgersson's wonderful journey

Selma Lagerlöf was born in 1858 at the Marbacka family estate, where she also died in 1940.

The renowned Swedish author taught for ten years before devoting herself to writing. She was the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature for her debut novel, Gösta Berling. She went on to write more novels, novellas, and autobiographical works.

Lagerlöf became a best-selling author with Nils Holgersson’s Wonderful Journey.

This imaginative tale of a boy who first terrorizes animals and then becomes their protector quickly gained international fame and was translated into many languages. While the television series was developed mainly for children, the book is much more profound and is also suitable for young adults and adults.

As in her other works, in Nils Holgersson, she accompanies her main characters on their journey to discover their identity and the meaning of life, doing so with humor, kindness, and compassion.
